The Middle Neosho Watershed is located primarily in Neosho, Crawford, Labette, and Cherokee counties in southeast Kansas, with small drainage areas originating from Allen and Bourbon counties. These watersheds contain the Neosho River and its tributaries beginning at the dam of John Redmond Lake and ending at the Oklahoma border. The Upper and Middle Neosho Watersheds have a Category I designation indicating the watershed is in need of restoration and protection to sustain water quality.
